an SBDC success story

Laredoan Dora Patlan is an independent beauty consultant for a well-known line of cosmetics and skin care products. She is also experienced in sales of home interior products over several years. She heard of the services of the Laredo Development Foundation's Small Business Development Center from other beauty consultants who have used our services to help implement sound business practices. She had also heard of the Acción Texas Loan Program.and wanted guidance on whether those funds were available to her to expand her inventory with the purchase of a new product line.
As I am a business development specialist for the SBDC, Patlan met with me to apprise herself of the guidelines and procedures for an Acción loan.
We worked through the pre-application process and submitted the Acción loan, which was approved. We closed the transaction in the SBDC office via telephone with Daniel Fisher of Acción Texas, marking yet another SBDC success story for linking a small business with access to expansion capital.
