Limon-Senties, cosmetologist of the elite and the
owner of Innovations, has over 25 years experience
in cosmetology.
Her practice began at Laredo Beauty College and quickly
moved to the city's finest salons. Her passion for
hairstyling and keeping up with the latest trends
has taken her to New York and Las Vegas to attend
hair shows and seminars.
At the World Hair Show held in Las Vegas, she trained
with the CEO of Bio-Ionic, Fernando Romero, on the
Japanese Hair System, a permanent-straightening system
for curly hair that also conditions.
Limon-Senties is pleased to announce that she is the
first stylist in Laredo to be certified in the Japanese
Hair System.
The system is based upon a natural negative-ion healing
therapy that has been used in Japan for hundreds of
years to treat physical and mental ailments. It utilizes
natural ion complexes to deliver natural negative
ions to the hair. The system's straightening creams,
neutralizers, retexturing irons, brushes, and blow
dryers all contain the ionic therapies. The procedure
is lengthy but once completed the curls and frizz
are gone for the life of the strands.
At the International Beauty Show in New York City
Limon-Senties picked up another technique -- cotton-coiling
perming, a temporary perm that uses only water, cotton,
and perm paper. The results are lots of lustrous curls
that can last up to five days; an alternative for
those who don't want to put their hair through a chemical
perm process. The style can also be achieved on a
more permanent basis with the addition of additives
to the cotton coiling process.
Wanting a new look, I decided to put Limon-Senties
to a test. She squeezed me in on a Friday, and with
polite frankness she told me I needed a color correction,
a technique in which she specializes as well. Highlighting
and lowlighting was what she decided to do on my hair,
which reversed the lack of luster of my dull brown
hair. Afterwards, she asked how I do my hair so that
she could cut it to fit me. I like to wear it differently
and so she gave me a cut that could achieve different
looks. I was very pleased with the end results. My
hair color suits my face and skin tone and my new
cut allows me to style my hair in many ways. I have
received many compliments on my hair since my visit
to Innovations.
Limon-Senties works quickly with her hands but always
she is attentive of what she is doing, even through
her relaxing narrative. It is apparent while she is
working that she enjoys her profession. She wants
to achieve the right look for the customer. She wants
to please her customers and wants to make sure they
are happy with the results.
"My customers are my friends," she said.
"Without them I have no profession. Their satisfaction
is my reward."
Over the years Limon-Senties has not only practiced
cosmetology but has put her knowledge to work in teaching
it. Her skills have been used to train new personnel
at Glemby Salons all over the United States.
Her talent has allowed her to work with celebrities.
"I had the opportunity to work with celebrities
during awards shows such as the Tejano Music Awards
on several occasions," she said. "I am very
proud of having had the opportunity to have worked
with many celebrities like Selena, Paul Rodriguez,
James Edward Olmos, Ricardo Montalban, and Rita Moreno,
among others."
The staff of Innovations consists of Limon-Senties
and her assistant Cora Juarez, who is well-trained
and certified and possesses talent of her own. If
