HEB South keeps check-out
lines moving,
great service at Border Sporting Goods
Dine in or take-out, La Mexicana
never fails to please with great service. Take-out
orders are ready when they say so and they are yummy
like everything else on the menu. Our favorite is
the tostadas de pollo con aguacate.
Rapidprint is your handy all-service downtown site
for all your printing needs. Excellent service from
folks who understand you are days behind on finishing
what you promised finished days ago.
For lunch or breakfast, Teocali on McPherson is always
timely with your order, even when there's a crowd.
The reference desk at the Laredo Public Library sure
came through for the patron who required the lyrics
to Beethoven's Ninth (Ode to Joy). The Library found
the sheet music for him through inter-library loan.
When the patron wanted Schiller's original text, the
Library found it online.
The effort to keep check-out lines moving at HEB South
is quite evident. It was slow moving when the store
first opened, but that is not the case now. If only
they stocked fresh herbs and organic Romaine. HEB
Guadalupe would do well to understand what the managers
at the south store are doing to keep customer service
positive.
If you haven't picked up a strawberry Trollebus, a
homemade non-dairy iced confection, at Yukon Icy Treats
(Zapata Hwy. At Blaine), then you don't know what
natural goodness is.
Recent visits to Zapata have placed the MC at two
great restaurants -- Ramiro and Cruz Torres' Holiday
Restaurant and Godkins', both on Hwy. 83. If hunting
or fishing put you in Z, enjoy these eateries.
Roque Hines at Border Sporting Goods found the MC
just the commemorative Henry the MC sought -- the
Henry Golden Boy .22 with its octagonal barrel, lever
action, American walnut stock, brass buttplate and
Brasslite receiver, and buckhorn type rear site. It's
a .22 that looks like a .30-.30 and handles slickly
and effortlessly for offhand shooting.
Whole Earth Provision Co. at the Quarry in San Antonio
came through like champs on the replacement of a defective
GPS tool purchased from them.
P.J. McCue in the Grande Ford service department makes
the MC hall of fame for excellent service.
Real people answer the phones at City Hall. Count
your blessings that it is not otherwise.
