Grant writing workshops assist fund raisers
AUSTIN - This summer's Texas Grant Writing Workshops will focus on securing foundation and corporate grants and successful grant writing. Sponsored by the Texas Historical Commission, Friends of the Texas Historical Commission, and The Hogg Foundation Library, the annual workshops are scheduled for June 21–26 in Austin .
For the past 25 years, workshop instructors have coached participants on effective fund raising techniques, successful proposal writing, and tips for working with foundations and other nonprofit organizations. Workshop leaders include Allison Chandler Supancic of The Hogg Foundation Library; Terry Colley, deputy director of the THC; and Linda Lee, executive director for Friends of the THC. Colley and Lee have helped raise more than $5.5 million in grants for THC programs.
The two-day workshop is scheduled for June 21–22 and is limited to 35 participants. The cost is $150. More comprehensive four-day workshops are scheduled for June 21-24 and June 23–26. They are limited to 20 participants each and the cost is $300. All workshops will be held at The Hogg Foundation Library in Austin .
