LCVB director named
to Tourism Advisory council

Nick Marks Reyna, director of the Laredo Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been appointed to the Tourism Advisory Committee of the Texas Economic Development Market Texas Tourism Division.
Reyna, a well-respected figure in the Texas hospitality industry, took his place on the committee in early April.
According to Ellen Hironymous with the Market Tourism Division, TAC members represent a cross section of the Texas travel industry and all of the state's geographic regions. The advisory committee is non-paid and serves as the division's governing board.
"The Tourism Advisory Committee provides the Market Texas Tourism Division with input and assistance regarding the development of marketing strategies and programs that best serve the needs of the industry and Texas communities," Hironymous said.
Prior to taking the reigns as LCVB director, Reyna served as the chairman of the Bureau's advisory board, president of the Laredo Hotel/Motel Association, and director of sales and marketing for La Posada Hotel/Suites. Reyna also served as president of the Brownsville Convention & Visitors Bureau as well as vice-president of the Corpus Christi Convention & Visitors Bureau.
"I am deeply honored to have been named to this prestigious committee," said Reyna of his appointment. "It is important for South Texas and the border region to have a strong voice in directing Texas' tourism marketing campaign. Holding a seat on the TAC will help me better promote Laredo as a key component in the tourism puzzle."
