Elizabeth Coates Portman, John Minne, Jr., announce June 19 wedding

 

Elizabeth Coates Portman and John Minne, Jr., will wed on Saturday, June 19, 2004 in Laredo . The ceremony will take place at Christ Church Episcopal and a reception will follow at the Laredo Country Club.

Elizabeth is the daughter of Deborah Snyder Portman, native Laredoan, and Michael Portman of Laredoan. Her grandparents are Mrs. Sophie Rosenbaum Snyder and the late John Andrew Snyder of Laredo , and Mr. Tom Simpson of Iredell, Texas and the late Ouilda T. Simpson. Elizabeth attended United Day School and graduated from St Mary's Hall High School in San Antonio . She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin , and received her Master's degree in Child Psychology from Columbia University in New York City . Lizzy, as she is affectionately known, currently lives in Austin , where she is completing academic requirements for her doctoral degree in Child Psychology at the University of Texas .

John Minne, Jr., is the son of Elizabeth and John Minne, former Laredoans who now reside in the Hill Country town of Tarpley , Texas . He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Link of Laredo , and Mr. Paul Minne of Avon Park , Florida and the late Louise Minne. Johnny attended St. Augustine Elementary School and is a graduate of United South High School . He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend , Indiana . He is employed at a computer technology firm in Austin .

The couple plans to reside in Austin after their wedding.
