Dr. Arturo Garza-Gongora named Zapata Medical Center director

Laredo Medical Center recently named Dr. Arturo Garza-Gongora as medical director of Zapata Medical Center.

“Having Dr. Garza-Gongora guide the Zapata facility is an expansion of the service already provided right here at Laredo Medical Center,” said Abraham Martinez, chief executive officer at LMC.

After completing his residency at Baylor College of Medicine, Garza-Gongora began at Laredo Medical, then Mercy Health Systems, as an attending emergency room physician.

He became chief attending physician of the emergency room and eventually opened his own practice.

An avid enthusiast of current findings an continuous research, he is currently on the physician research committee at Laredo Medical Center .
