No doubt about it -- war pays!
By Henri D. Kahn
Thirty-six thousand dollars per school year starting pay for a school teacher with a college degree and teaching permit.
Ten million dollars tax-free, in one lump sum, for a big-mouth stool pigeon who enjoys social mobility with an infamous decapitator.
Fifty thousand dollars for 12 months, in the USA , for a long-haul truck driver with a good driving record and regular trips.
Two hundred thousand dollars for infrequent erratic trips throughout Iraq during 12 months for a Halliburton truck driver, regardless of driving record, with medical expenses at U.S. Armed Forces hospitals added as a fringe benefit.
Fifty thousand dollars per year for an experienced police force detective.
Twenty-five million dollars for a transient squealer with information leading to the capture of a terrorist bomber.
Megamillions for manufacturers making a killing (pun intended) for the production of arms to destroy lives and property.
Yes, my friends, you are justified to blame George W. Bush for squandering taxpayer money, and worse by far, for sending our soldiers to their death on a wild goose chase for those weapons of mass destruction dreamed up by his cohorts.
This “independent” interim governing body of Iraqi puppets is an absolute joke!
Do you really believe that with the presence of 135,000 soldiers breathing down your neck you can make a decision that would not sit well with the leaders of the occupation force?
How about a free election in Iraq sometime in January 2005? I truly believe that 80 percent of the votes will be influenced by the fear of death warnings from the many militias, aka gangs, throughout Iraq .
As to the price of gasoline we are suffering through: I want to know who is pocketing the revenue from Iraqi oil sales? If it's not us, it should be, as the spoils of war. We have already plundered and spoiled over there, why not pillage?
Don't vote for or against Kerry because of his political party affiliation. Vote for Kerry because George W. Bush has been a continual source of one problem after another, and he needs to go where he is most qualified -- to cut brush in Crawford , Texas .
