Wake up, people! George W. Bush and his gang are eating our lunch!
For heaven's sake, the only reason “our” government's financial situation has gone from a $127 billion surplus in 2001 to a predicted $500 billion deficit by the end of this year is a series of unbelievably scandalous knee-jerk decisions and extremely bad management.
I wouldn't be able to stay in business if I practiced the fiscal irresponsibility that Bush and his cabinet are perpetrating on the American taxpayer. I can't print dollar bills like the federal government so I have to bite the bullet. The government printing of U.S. dollars is keeping the Bush gang eating lunch high off the hog and we is eatin' chitlins.
I mean, how much more convincing do we need to realize that the current administration in Washington , D.C. , is inept and messing up at virtually every turn?
Are you pollyanna-ish enough to disregard this undisciplined squandering of our hard-earned tax dollars? Do you know that Bush's September, 2003 request for an additional $87 billion to continue financing “his” war will cost Texans -- that's us -- an additional $6.6 billion.
The $6.6 billion could benefit Texas with $1.3 billion for school construction, over 11,000 housing residencies, over $1 billion for local and state roads and bridges, healthcare for over 470,000 Texans, and nearly 125,000 jobs.
These figures apply to Texas . The other 49 States of the Union are also getting their butts kicked.
I used to and still do feel sorry for the Israelis and Palestinians that are in a seemingly never-ending conflict over territory, tradition, religion, and loss of loved ones.
Our brave soldiers are stuck in a similar explosive situation facing a virtually faceless enemy, getting killed and seriously injured daily by suicide bombers, snipers, land mines, and lethal rockets from gosh knows where. All of this because a bunch of either uniformed or lying politicians decided to put this country in harm's way without proper justification.
The problems in all of Africa, Mexico , Central and South America, countries of the extinct Soviet Union , our own national problems, the entire populated world share a level of similarity concerning what all of us want:
1) Elimination of starvation and malnutrition; 2) Health care and control of devastating disease; 3) Housing; 4) Clean water; 5) Literacy; 6) Safe and efficient energy; 7) Retirement of debt; 8) Population control and stability; 9) Care and protection of the environment; 10) Freedom of political expression.
It's easy to see that the vast majority wants to eat, sleep, work, love, and enjoy a happy, peaceful life.
The USA has a reputation of bravely facing up to trouble time and again all over the world to defend our way of life as well as insure the safety of other countries, and I am proud of that legacy.
I deplore actions against other countries without the accurate, corroborated evidence that was completely lacking when George W. Bush experienced another of his callous knee-jerk whims.
This current president of our wonderful country is bad news and we need to elect some other person in November, or we ain't seen nothin' yet.
Get out and enjoy the George Washington birthday festivities. I certainly will!
