Drs. Allan and Gesina Recto announce that local pediatrician Dr. Manuel R. Treviño has joined their pediatric group practice, both at McPherson Pediatric Center and at their newly opened satellite office, the South Pediatric Clinic & Clinica De Noche Pediatrica on South Zapata Highway near Loop 20.
Dr. Treviño, who has been in private practice in Laredo for more than 25 years, completed his Pediatric Residency Training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He has served as Chief of Pediatrics for both Doctors Hospital of Laredo and Mercy Regional Medical Center.
"We are very pleased to have Dr. Treviño join our pediatric practice," said Dr. Allan Recto. "He brings with him a wealth of experience and service to the Laredo community. Dr. Treviño is a sincere and compassionate pediatrician!"
Drs. Allan and Gesina Recto, who established the McPherson Pediatric Center and Nightime Pediatrics at 6801 McPherson Road, Suite 214 in September 2002, have recently opened the South Pediatric Clinic and Clinica De Noche Pediatrica at 610 South Zapata Highway at the Frontier Village.
"We noticed when we established our North Laredo Pediatric Clinic at the McPherson Medical Center that many of the patients come all the way from the surrounding areas of Río Bravo, San Ygnacio, Zapata, and Hebbronville," said Dr. Gesina Recto. "It was considerable effort on their part to get to the north side of the city; so we decided to open a South Laredo Pediatric Clinic to make it convenient for those who have to drive far to avail themselves of our pediatric services. And for those in South Laredo for whom transportation to North Laredo is a problem, we are now conveniently located on Zapata Highway 83 near Loop 20."
"Besides offering convenience, we are bringing additional quality health care to a medically under-served part of the city," said Dr. Allan Recto. "We offer a full range of services for newborns, infants, children and adolescents -- day and night -- from free pre-natal consultations, EPSDT, school & sports physicals, and immunizations to sick child visits. We are committed to providing the best possible pediatric service with urgent care/evening hours at both locations, and Saturday hours at the North McPherson location. We also provide preventive and health maintenance care from the baby’s first check-up right up through 21 years of age."
Drs. Allan and Gesina Recto met while completing their pediatric residency at the St. Joseph Children’s Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey in 1997. They had practiced in New Jersey and Nevada prior to moving to Laredo in 2000. Both Drs. Recto are Board-Certified in Pediatrics, Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatrics, Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and members of the Texas Pediatric Society, American Medical Association, and the Tri-County Medical Society.
