Mr. and Mrs. Dennis P. Kriewald announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Courtney Suzanne of Champaign, Illinois, to Timothy Lawrence Head II of Urbana, Illinois. The evening wedding will take place August 17 at the First United Methodist Church with a reception following in the Executive Club, Walker Plaza.
Courtney, who was the valedictorian of the 1997 class ofUnited High School, graduated with highest honors from Texas Tech University's Honors College in December 2000.
As an Honors College student, she studied in Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkey in the summer of 1998. She wrote her senior thesis on the use of propaganda during the Protestant Reformation. In January, 2002, she began work on a Master in Human Resources degree at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Tim, the son of Mrs. Trudy Head of Cleburne, Texas, and Mr. Timothy Head of Van Horn, Texas, graduated from the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) at the University of North Texas, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, in May, 2000 before entering graduate school at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he is a Ph.D. candidate in physics and a research assistant.
Courtney is the granddaughter of Mrs. Wanda Z. Kriewald and the late Helmuth P. Kriewald of Zuehl, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Campbell of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Tim is the grandson of Walter and Ethelene Head of Arlington, Texas, and the late Basil Smith and Ruth Smith of Aledo, Texas, and Bernice Elliott of Omaha, Texas.
