Mystery Customer
A square deal on huevos & taquitos at V&G,
fresh fruit, good food at Urbano's buffet

You'll find a square deal on huevos and taquitos for breakfast at V&G Restaurant at 4201 Santa María. Good prices, good service.
And if you happen to be heading south, La Generala on the Zapata Highway (right side of the road as you go south, next to a paleteria and to Rick Flores' campaign HQ) there's a little patio for outdoor dining. Sample their cold cidra sodas, tacos al pastor, and very prompt service.
Manita, I'm chocked at the continued good service at HEB South. Those speedy check-out lines should be models of emulation for their Guadalupe Store, which frankly needs a makeover for service and product. But what happened to the Stewart's sodas at the South store?
Good and bad service at Michael's Crafts. One day the lines were tolerable and all registers were open, and on another the wait was quite miserable. When a swamped clerk at the long line register was asked if she needed help, she replied in the negative.
The MC found excellent service at Home Depot in the gardening/Christmas tree department. Justo Cruz expertly trimmed the base of the tree and Will Escobedo gave us the trimmings to build our own wreath.
Besides the good service and the huevos rancheros prepared a mi gusto, the MC found an incredible buffet at Urbano's on South Zapata Hwy., a buffet that included the MC's favorite fresh fruits (naranja, papaya, mango, watermelon) and a veritable feast of Mexican delights freshly prepared.
At Lowe's, where the MC normally finds good service, a very disinerested and kind of listless checkout clerk sent the MC to the paint department for WD-40. What a waste of the MC's time to hunt down so common a staple item in any hardware store.

At Ben's Western Wear in Cotulla, the MC spent a fruitful Saturday afternoon gift shopping and taking advantage of the excellent service in this one-of-a-kind store filled with durable and beautiful clothing for the great outdoors
