Courtney Kriewald, bride elect,
feted at bridal shower and bridal brunch

Former Laredoan Courtney Suzanne Kriewald, bride-elect of Timothy Lawrence Head II, came home to Texas recently to be honored with a shower and bridal brunch, one given by friends here in Laredo and the second given by relatives in New Braunfels.
Courtney lives in Champaign, Illinois, where she is pursuing a master's degree in human resources at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and where her fiance, Tim Head II, is in his third year of studies for the Doctor of Philosophy in physics. Courtney and Tim met while they attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Tim and Courtney will be married Saturday, August 17, at an evening ceremony in Laredo's First United Methodist Church with an Executive Club reception to follow.
Laredo bridal shower
Five hostesses honored Courtney with an afternoon deposit shower held at the home of hostess Jan Little. Hosting with Jan were Lucy Cardenas, Martha Haslam, Rachel Bohmfalk, and Sarah Bohmfalk, the latter of Austin.
In addition to the hostesses and the honoree, others attending included the bride's mother and sister, Kay Kriewald of Laredo and Lesley Kriewald of College Station; Laura Bohmfalk, UTSA student; Hanan Amro, Adriana Barrera, Dora Cantu, Lydia Linares, and Yolanda Negrete of the LCC Mathematics Department; Courtney's long-time friend Monica De Anda of Houston; retired LCC instructor Mildred J. Reyna; and friends from the Methodist Church Hortense Offerle, Laura Oden, Anna Chavez, Dolly Claes, Eileen Hale, and Delia and Linda Ruth Whitfield.
The hostesses served a delicious merienda of cream-cheese frosted layered tuna sandwich loaf, a Mississippi mud chocolate cake, and lemonade punch.
New Braunfels bridal brunch
Courtney's aunt Kay Engel of New Braunfels and her cousins Karen Culpepper of Carrollton, Judy Engel of Frisco, Theressa Engel of New Braunfels, and Connie Schumann of Seguin gave Courtney a bridal brunch in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church social hall in New Braunfels. The hostesses' gift to Courtney was a set of bed linens.
Attending this affair were the bride-to-be and her three attendants-to-be: her sister, Lesley V. Kriewald, who will be the maid of honor, and her friends Sarah Bohmfalk of Austin and Courtnie Smith of Dallas, both of whom will serve as bridesmaids.
Also attending were Kay Kriewald of Laredo, the bride-elect's mother; Trudy Head of Cleburne, the groom-elect's mother, and her granddaughter Trinity Head, who will be one of the flower girls; Kaylee Culpepper of Carrollton, the other flower girl; Courtnie Smith's mother, Janie Smith of San Angelo; Diane Kraft and Denise Gooding of New Braunfels, family friends; and cousins Alma Rosebrock of Marion and her two granddaughters, Sarah and Rebecca.
The brunch included orange muffins, four varieties of quiche, mixed fruit, juice, and coffee. Guests sat at tables centered with fresh flower arrangements.
