Courtney
Kriewald, bride elect,
feted at bridal shower and bridal brunch
Former
Laredoan Courtney Suzanne Kriewald, bride-elect of
Timothy Lawrence Head II, came home to Texas recently
to be honored with a shower and bridal brunch, one
given by friends here in Laredo and the second given
by relatives in New Braunfels.
Courtney lives in Champaign, Illinois, where she is
pursuing a master's degree in human resources at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and where
her fiance, Tim Head II, is in his third year of studies
for the Doctor of Philosophy in physics. Courtney
and Tim met while they attended Texas Tech University
in Lubbock.
Tim and Courtney will be married Saturday, August
17, at an evening ceremony in Laredo's First United
Methodist Church with an Executive Club reception
to follow.
Laredo bridal shower
Five hostesses honored Courtney with an afternoon
deposit shower held at the home of hostess Jan Little.
Hosting with Jan were Lucy Cardenas, Martha Haslam,
Rachel Bohmfalk, and Sarah Bohmfalk, the latter of
Austin.
In addition to the hostesses and the honoree, others
attending included the bride's mother and sister,
Kay Kriewald of Laredo and Lesley Kriewald of College
Station; Laura Bohmfalk, UTSA student; Hanan Amro,
Adriana Barrera, Dora Cantu, Lydia Linares, and Yolanda
Negrete of the LCC Mathematics Department; Courtney's
long-time friend Monica De Anda of Houston; retired
LCC instructor Mildred J. Reyna; and friends from
the Methodist Church Hortense Offerle, Laura Oden,
Anna Chavez, Dolly Claes, Eileen Hale, and Delia and
Linda Ruth Whitfield.
The hostesses served a delicious merienda of cream-cheese
frosted layered tuna sandwich loaf, a Mississippi
mud chocolate cake, and lemonade punch.
New Braunfels bridal brunch
Courtney's aunt Kay Engel of New Braunfels and her
cousins Karen Culpepper of Carrollton, Judy Engel
of Frisco, Theressa Engel of New Braunfels, and Connie
Schumann of Seguin gave Courtney a bridal brunch in
the St. Paul's Lutheran Church social hall in New
Braunfels. The hostesses' gift to Courtney was a set
of bed linens.
Attending this affair were the bride-to-be and her
three attendants-to-be: her sister, Lesley V. Kriewald,
who will be the maid of honor, and her friends Sarah
Bohmfalk of Austin and Courtnie Smith of Dallas, both
of whom will serve as bridesmaids.
Also attending were Kay Kriewald of Laredo, the bride-elect's
mother; Trudy Head of Cleburne, the groom-elect's
mother, and her granddaughter Trinity Head, who will
be one of the flower girls; Kaylee Culpepper of Carrollton,
the other flower girl; Courtnie Smith's mother, Janie
Smith of San Angelo; Diane Kraft and Denise Gooding
of New Braunfels, family friends; and cousins Alma
Rosebrock of Marion and her two granddaughters, Sarah
and Rebecca.
The brunch included orange muffins, four varieties
of quiche, mixed fruit, juice, and coffee. Guests
sat at tables centered with fresh flower arrangements.
