Excellent service at Lowe's
& SA's Bike World

At Lowe's, the MC got precision cuts made on lumber purchases, which ensured that the MC's kitchen shelves were quite nearly square. The able lumber cutter, who was feisty at first at the work visible on the MC's notepad, turned out to be a champ with a good attitude. Hey, give this guy his own measuring tape instead of the packaged one he was having to use. In the paint department, the MC experienced a little bit of a wait, but cashiers were quick to find an available paint mixer. Great custom colors!
And speaking of Lowe's, the company has lent a helping hand to Habitat for Humanity's new construction project in Riverhill Subdv. in South Laredo. The company provided hardware and organizers to maximize the home's closet space.
On a recent Saturday, Home Depot sent a pick-up load of sheetrock to the Habitat site. It was much appreciated and well used on the day members of Conoco's Business Unit did their Sheetrock Blitz at the site.
Fina Morrey, the manager of Rosita's on Calton Road, called to dispute that it had taken almost 50 minutes to be served, as was reported in last month's MC review. Morrey said that each meal is individually prepared and that the tacos for which Rosita's is famous require a good amount of time to prepare. We said we would pass on to our readers that information. There is no dispute that the tacos there are to die for, but the service is never swift.
The MC found exemplary service on a new bike purchase, and accessories, at San Antonio's Bike World on Broadway. The already assembled hybrid bike was measured to the rider's frame and adjusted and loaded into the MC's vehicle.
Great service, a clean suite, and a restful atmosphere at Woodfield Suites on Durango in San Antonio.
The MC can't tell you enough times what a treat it is to get the oil changed at Jiffy Lube. Butterfly windshield removal and a thorough vacuum at no charge, no oily smudges on the seat or the steering wheel. The price is right and the wait is minimal.
When the MC asked for Ball brand canning jars, the glass ones with the seal and brass lids, at the Zapata Hwy. 83 HEB, store clerks did a bunch of eye-rolling, never-heards, and must-be-outta-her-gourd maneuvers. When the MC called the Gucci-B in North Laredo to ask if they stocked the jars, the MC was put on hold for the entire ride from the South store to the halfway marker to San Ygnacio.
Sam's Club partner Jessica offered the MC friendly service during a recent purchase.
The MC found helpful advice at Best Buy when searching for a cordless phone battery.
