Peter Joshua Casso baptized
Peter Joshua Casso, son of Peter and Mindy T. Casso, received the Sacrament of Baptism March 6, 2004. Honoring the Cassos as Godparents to their son are Bill and Debbie DeLaya. Peter Joshua is the grandson of Pedro and Rosalinda Casso and Mike and Nellie R. Trust.
In a private ceremony held at San Fransisco Javier Church, Father Patricio Dominguez spoke eloquently of the meaning of Baptism and its effect.
Immediately following the ceremony, a luncheon was held at Bourbon St. Bar & Grill. Presented as a gift from the honoree's great aunt, Ms. Teresa Rocha, was a beautifully designed cake featuring a hand-sculpted, hand-painted baby made of sugar and included delicate lace features.
Tables were elegant with floral arrangements of peach roses and spring daisies, and included gold and silver candles at each place setting. As a remembrance of the occasion, guests received a beautiful hand-carved pewter cross. Marking the end of the luncheon was a speech given by the honoree's father thanking and praising members of his and his wife's family, from whom he hoped his son would inherit traits.
Family members and close friends attended the special occasion, including the honoree's great grandmother, Ms. Esperanza C. Rocha.
