Laredo Sector BP Public Affairs
Sarah
A. Pocorobba has recently joined the U.S. Border Patrol
Laredo Sector's Public Affairs Department.
Pocorobba was formerly the publicity/marketing coordinator
for the Washington's Birthday Celebration Association.
A native Laredoan, she is a graduate of Texas A&M
University - Corpus Christi, where she earned a Bachelor
of Arts in Communications. She has extensive knowledge
in areas of television, radio, film, and theater.
While an undergraduate, Pocorobba interned at and worked
for various radio and television stations in Corpus
Christi.
Pocorobba was a speech teacher at United South High
School, as well as a morning host on KRRG-98.1.
She appeared as an extra in the film Selena and in various
Tejano videos from Q-Productions. Sarah also appeared
in the musical A Chorus Line at the Harbor Playhouse
in Corpus Christi.
Pocorobba is a former member of the Texas Classroom
Teachers Association and Texas Speech Communication
Association, and was chosen as Miss Laredo USA in 1998.
She was president of Lambda Pi Eta - Speech Communication
Honor Society, 1997; new student orientation leader,
1997; member of Spectrum-TAMIU-CC Communication Club;
and National Hispanic Scholarship recipient, 1997.
