Audra Schroeder to be out in the field a bit more.
Mata will begin May 1.
KGNS
general manager Mary Nell Sanchez tells us that KGNS

Dr.

he said.
City
of Laredo PIO Blasita Lopez reports she is happy to
have Daniel de la Miyar as an administrative assistant
to her office. When he is not at his day job, De la
Miyar is a radio personality on Nuevo Laredo's 102.3
Radio Radiante. Lopez also notes that the City Health
Department's PIO José Ledesma is a great team
worker. She characterizes him as energetic, prompt,
and thorough.
IN
OTHER COMMUNICATION
Word
has it that political signs no longer communicate
who will sit in the winner's circle. It's quien tiene
mas leña. That's what rules politically these
days as the city is covered with a blanket of carne
asada fires meant to stoke up campaigns and voter
interest.
Must
be the hair dye. "Nike, Just Do It. Nike, Just
Do It." Those were the words of Laredo Independent
School District trustee John Peter Montalvo to the
City's Historic District and Landmark Board in a meeting
to discuss the demolition of LISD campuses that have
historical significance. Members of the board looked
a little uncomfortable at these utterings which appeared
to come from left field, and which were followed by
the remarks of LISD board member José Valdez,
who made it quite clear that saving something of historical
value was of little significance to him.
LareDOS
