Veronica
Hernandez named
assistant cashier at IBC

International
Bank of Commerce has recently promoted Veronica Hernandez
to assistant cashier, making her one of the bank's
newest officers.
Hernandez began her career at IBC in April 1994 as
a motorbank teller. She spent two years at the commercial
teller window and in lobby services at various branches,
followed by a position in the teller training department,
where she was responsible for training all Laredo
IBC and Commerce Bank tellers. Hernandez instructed
tellers on in areas such as policies and procedures,
customer service, and handling robbery attempts. She
took a teller supervisor position at IBC Banquito
North for a year and a half there before returning
to the training department.
In July 2001, Hernandez became head teller for IBC
Laredo where she oversaw over 120 tellers and 6 teller
supervisors. As head teller she ensured that all tellers
were performing well and up to IBC standards. Hernandez
also worked with tellers to improve transaction processing.
Most recently, Hernandez assisted during IBC's mainframe
conversion, teaching local employees to use the new
system. She also traveled to other IBC markets to
provide support in the training.
As assistant cashier, Hernandez will maintain the
same duties as head teller as well as taking on more
responsibilities. Her main responsibility will be
monitoring the teller operations area.
"I will continue to strive for excellent customer
service in our teller lines and hold true to our We
Do More motto," said Hernandez.
