Upholding his mission “to make a better and safer Texas,” Representative Tracy O. King has throughout his tenure in the Texas House held numerous leadership positions, including, currently, the Chairman of the House Licensing and Administrative Procedures Committee.

He also serves on the Natural Resources Committee. In the past he has served on the Ways and Means; Appropriations; Culture, Recreation, and Tourism; and Environmental Regulation committees. He has chaired the Border and International Affairs Committee and the Agriculture and Livestock Committee.

King said that his level of experience and proven record in the Texas House have afforded him the knowledge “to know what to do and how to do it.“  He added, “The seniority that I have will continue to play a pivotal role in securing key leadership positions that will greatly benefit the citizens of District 80. I will continue to approach the needs of our State with a fair, determined, and experienced mind.”

He said his agenda for the next Legislative session is to continue his efforts for more job opportunities, better health care, improved public education, additional benefits for veterans, lower taxes, and a better business climate for the citizens of South and Southwest Texas.

Rep. King has been endorsed by the Texas PAC of the National Federation of Independent Business for advocacy for the small business community. He has also been endorsed by the Texas Farm Bureau AGFUND, Texas State Teachers Association (TSTA), Texas Real Estate Political Action Committee (TREPAC), and the County Officials PAC.

He said that as a Uvalde businessman, father, and husband, he is keenly aware of the needs and challenges facing South and Southwest Texas families. He and his wife Cheryl Baker King are the parents of Katelyn Marie King and Clayton Baker King.
