Bethany House prepares for black and white gala, “Lean on Me”

Bethany House is in preparation for its 6th biennial gala, a black and white affair themed “Lean on Me.”

The fundraising gala, which is set for November 15, 2019 at the Laredo Country Club, features cocktails and a wine tasting reception, a silent and live auction, dining, and dancing.

Fernando and Cecilia Rodriguez chair the event, which features the art of Linda LaMantia. Top prizes for the annual raffle are a Rolex watch and a Chanel chevron quilted handbag. Raffle tickets are $50.

Texas Community Bank is the sponsor for this evening of celebration and purpose.

Sponsorship opportunities are as follows: Diamond Best Friend of Bethany, $25,000 that covers three months of meals and shelter for 14 families; Platinum, $15,000 that covers three months of meals and shelter for nine families; Gold, $10,000, that covers three months of meals and shelter for six families; Silver $5,000, that covers three months of meals and shelter for three families; and Bronze, $2,000, that covers three months of meals and shelter for one family.

Additionally there are two $5,000 opportunities for the event. One is for wine and the other is for the photo booth.

The Bethany House mission to “feed the hungry and shelter the homeless” manifested itself in 2018 by providing 281,504 meals; 17,835 shelter nights; 31 families sheltered in transitional housing; and 68 families assisted with rent and utilities to avert homelessness.
