Harmony’s 5K run and walk to benefit Solar Car Club

The Harmony School of Excellence will host the Power of the Sun 5K Run and Walk Saturday, February 3, at the campus at 4401 San Francisco. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the run begins at 8:30.

The event is sponsored by City Council members Nelly Vielma of District V and Roberto Balli of District VIII, City of Laredo staff, and Harmony.

Online registration is available at http://powerofthesun5k.itsyourrace.com/register/ The registration fee for adults is $20 and $10 for children under 10. The fee includes medals for the top 50 runners. The first 50 to register will receive a race T-shirt.

Proceeds from the race benefit Harmony’s Solar Car Club which will build Laredo’s first school-built solar car.

There is plenty of free parking available.

The family friendly 5K run and walk is for ages 4 and up. Children 6 and under must have adult supervision with them on the course.
