8th Annual Birdies on the Río to benefit RGISC’s mission of environmental advocacy

The 8th Annual Birdies on the Río Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, December 16, at the Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course. The event is sponsored by the non-profit Río Grande International Study Center (RGISC).

The tourney format is a two-person Florida scramble in five flights. Tee times are at 9 a.m.

The $150 per person entry fee includes breakfast, lunch, green fees, Tequila Sunrises and Bloody Marys, a goody bag, Mulligans, all skills contests, choosies, and chances at door prizes.

Prizes include $350 for first place per team per flight, and $150 for second place: a kayak; a Yeti Hopper; two 40”, 49”, and 55” LED TVs; a Sony Sound Bar; Rtic coolers and tumblers; Samsung Galaxy Tab; rangefinder; golf equipment; Bose speaker and earphones; Bluetooth speakers; Fire TV 4K; EchoDot; a FitBit; and more.

Hole-in-One prizes include $10,000 on holes 6, 9, and 12 from Escamilla Used Cars and Trucks; a 2018 Chevy Cruze from Family Chevrolet; a 2017 Mazda 6 by Sames Mazda; golf trips; a shot at $50,000 for four lucky participants; and a $2,500 putting contest.

              

Raffle tickets include a shot at winning a Browning Citori over/under 12 gauge shotgun in its original leather case. The package is valued at $2,500. Tickets are available from RGISC members for $20 each or $100 for six.

On site registration begins at 7 a.m. with a Shotgun Start at 9 a.m.
