A spirited crowd and beautiful weather blessed the 2017 Laredo Walk to End Alzheimer’s on the morning of September 30 at TAMIU. Walk organizers Nydia Valdez and Melissa Guerra extend a heartfelt thanks to all volunteers, walk participants, sponsors, exhibitors, and TAMIU.

Goyo Lopez emceed the opening ceremony at which Bishop James Tamayo offered the blessing and District V Council member Nelly Vielma read the City Proclamation. Local band Bucket of Six added much to the ambience of the event.

Laredoans who missed the 2017 walk can continue to contribute by going to alz.org/walk and then following the prompts to the Laredo walk.

The walk was held under auspices of the San Antonio office of the Alzheimer’s Association.
