U.S. Congressman Beto O’Rourke (D-TX 16th) will be in Laredo Monday, July 31.
The El Paso native, who is on the campaign trail to unseat Republican incumbent Senator Ted Cruz, will visit with Laredo Democrats at Palenque Grill at 5:30 p.m.
In a May 2017 opinion piece in The New York Times, Texas writer Mimi Swartz extolled O’Rourke’s perceived virtues as, “…liberal and progressive, but also technologically and economically literate in a way that should appeal to business. He speaks fluent Spanish.”
