The Texas Civil Rights Project (TCRP) launches a new initiative #GenerationJustice on June 6 in Austin to ignite the next generation of civil rights leaders in Texas.

According to Greg Casar, an Austin City Council member, “Since the beginning of the year, Texas has experienced a wave of unprecedented attacks on the civil rights of our community.”

Casar cited immigration raids that have torn families apart and the passing of the discriminatory “show me your papers” law, SB4, as civil rights violations that have fueled resistance throughout the state.

The TCRP recently began a legal battle against the state to stop SB4 from being implemented.

“Generation Justice is TCRP’s new effort to transform Texas,” Casar said.

The launch is set for June 6 at Austin’s South Congress Hotel.
