Thompson’s Tejano Tiger sells out at WCHF reception

Dr. Jerry Thompson, Regents Professor of History at Texas A&M International University, signed copies of his recently published Tejano Tiger – José de los Santos Benavides and the Texas – Mexico Borderlands 1823-1891 at the Villa Antigua Border Heritage Museum on April 11.

José de los Santos Benavides was the highest-ranking Tejano in the Confederate army and an esteemed political leader respected on both sides of the border for bi-national leadership and skilled diplomacy.

Thompson is the author of more than 20 books on the history of Texas and the Southwest.
